Welcome! I started this blog because I am a lover of the ocean and most bodies of water. There are so many interesting organisms that have mastered living in the water and I wanted to share my love for them. What I post about will range from fishes, marine mammals, microscopic organisms, plants, and so on. Feel free to submit something you would like to learn about.
“There’s nothing wrong with enjoying looking at the surface of the ocean itself, except that when you finally see what goes on underwater, you realize that you’ve been missing the whole point of the ocean. Staying on the surface all the time is like going to the circus and staring at the outside of the tent.”

I'm recently graduated with a masters in Marine Conservation and Policy from Stony Brook University. My undergraduate background was in bioscience. I grew up on Long Island a few minutes from the water (which probably helped inspire my career choice). I'm a lover of all things nature. As a Latina I want to utilize being bilingual in a way that positively contributes to environmental conservation. Now, I don't really want to get in-depth about myself because the real (sea)stars here are all of the marine organisms we will be discussing. I hope that through this blog I can inspire at least one person to make a change.
